The chain has two stages. Stage 1: Electronic Circuit, made in an Assembling Machine from 1 Copper Plate and 1 Iron Plate. Stage 2: Advanced Circuit, made in an Assembling Machine from 2 Electronic Circuits and 1 Copper Plate. Upstream, both Copper Plates and Iron Plates come from smelting their respective ores in any Smelting Furnace (1 ore → 1 plate). Downstream, Advanced Circuits feed into items such as the Battery and the Processing Unit, among others. The optimal mineral ratio per Advanced Circuit is 3 Copper Plates to 2 Iron Plates. In practice, copper is almost always the bottleneck because it is the more heavily demanded mineral. If your copper smelting line cannot keep up, the entire circuit chain starves, and everything downstream stalls. Scaling is straightforward but unforgiving. For every Advanced Circuit assembler running at full speed, you need at least two Electronic Circuit assemblers running at full speed, and enough furnaces to produce 3 copper and 2 iron plates per cycle. As the factory grows and more items demand Advanced Circuits, you simply add parallel assembler lines and scale the smelting proportionally. The ratio never changes; only the volume does.
