Reader's Guide
To produce Advanced Circuits you need three upstream chains converging on a single Circuit Assembler. The copper chain is straightforward: mine Copper Ore, smelt it in a Furnace (1 ore → 1 plate). The plastic chain is more involved: extract Petroleum from a well, pipe it into a Chemical Plant alongside Water (1 petroleum + 1 water → 1 Plastic Bar). The assembler then combines 2 Copper Plates + 1 Plastic Bar into 1 Advanced Circuit. The optimal machine ratio per unit of assembler output (0.5 s craft time) is roughly 12–13 basic furnaces to 10 chemical plants to 1 circuit assembler. In practice the Chemical Plant is the most common bottleneck because its 5-second craft time is slow relative to the assembler's 0.5-second cycle, and it also demands a functioning petroleum pipeline. Copper smelting is cheap in machine count but can starve if the mine is undersized. As the factory scales, the Advanced Circuit becomes a shared dependency: every Processing Unit, every advanced weapon, and most mid-to-late research recipes consume them. The assembler line typically becomes the true bottleneck at scale, and players add speed modules or parallel assembler rows. The plastic pipeline, meanwhile, grows linearly—more wells, more pumps, more pipe—and is where most layout headaches live. Plan the petroleum corridor early and the Advanced Circuit line will never be the thing that stops you.
