The Green Cable production chain is straightforward and shallow, making it one of the easiest chains to automate. Copper Ore is smelted in a Furnace to yield Copper Plate. Copper Plate is then crafted in a Crafting Machine into Copper Wire. Finally, Copper Wire is crafted in a Crafting Machine into Green Cable. The full chain is: Copper Ore → Copper Plate → Copper Wire → Green Cable → Power Pole (assembler). The typical bottleneck in this chain is the smelting stage. Furnaces have limited slots and require constant fuel input, so as copper demand rises, adding more furnaces and ensuring a steady fuel supply (coal, wood, or later, oil) becomes critical. The crafting stages are fast and rarely lag behind. For a single Power Pole, you need 4 Green Cables, 4 Copper Wires, 4 Copper Plates, and 4 Copper Ore. As the factory scales, the ratio scales linearly: N power poles require 4N green cables and 4N copper ore. In practice, most players build 2–3 furnaces and 2–3 crafting machines per copper wire line early on, then expand as the power grid grows. Because the chain is short, it is rarely the limiting factor in a mid- to late-game factory; the real constraint shifts to the assembler slots needed for the power poles themselves and the iron plates they also require.
